BPOS Bear in the Blogosphere

That almost rhymes…

Who is this BPOS Bear?

Who am I? A bear much in love with the world of clouds—and not the clouds that create imaginary shapes such as sunflowers and honeycombs, but the cloud that only Microsoft could bring to the world of business bears—Microsoft Online Services BPOS.

What is BPOS? BPOS is Microsoft’s Business Productivity Online Standard Suite that includes cloud-hosted services such as:

  • SharePoint Online
  • Exchange Server
  • Office Live Meeting
  • Office Communications Server

Or separately, the Office Live Meeting Professional Edition.

Now that obvious question: what does a bear care about the Microsoft cloud? It’s not to say I’m a Care Bear, but I certainly am interested in getting my b-paws on the BPOS for some very obvious reasons:

  1. Bears like salmon and salmon runs are the best place to acquire said salmon. Being able to communicate and collaborate with other bears as to where the best salmon runs are located and the return on invested bear time (ROIBT) from standing in the runs can mean for better bear productivity.
  2. Half of the year I am in hibernation and cannot be concerned about uptime or other bear business processes. Having my salmon run collaboration tools hosted in the Microsoft cloud is the best way for all bears to get the rest they need, without losing weight from the stress of down servers (just losing weight from hibernation).
  3. BPOS sounds like B-PAWS, which is like bear paws. So I was intrigued from the moment I first almost clawed to death the… err… rawr.

What does a bear have to say about Microsoft BPOS? – Too much!

Imagine never knowing about something your entire natural life, only to discover it and realize you had been missing out? That is my mission now! All bears and non-bears must know the power of BPOS by the power of B-paws!
